Goals

1. More vitamin C

It's been a lot of pasta and english muffins this week (though here they're just called "muffins") and I'd like that to change. I have to say one of the biggest adjustments so far is getting used to a new kitchen and a new system in the kitchen. Our apartment in Montreal is a well-oiled machine when it comes to food, and groceries and preparation are always a team effort. Here, everyone cooks mostly for themselves meaning fridge and freezer storage is divided amongst 5 people, which doesn't really leave a lot of room for any of us, especially when you're trying to store fresh produce, hence the primarily carb-based diet. I'm going to buy some oranges today.

2. Up on time

This isn't because I feel guilty sleeping in until around 10ish everyday, it's that the hot water in the shower is always gone by the time I get to it. Not fun.

3. Party (slightly) less

It might not have been on par with Carnival, but I did manage to go out 5 of the 7 nights I've been here. Now, before you say, "Woah, Ryan, take it easy on the hooch," be it known that all of these nights were either special get-to-know-people events or birthday parties, so it was in my best interest to go. They were also all very enjoyable. Plus, most Scottish beer is between 2-4%, so pint for pint I'm drinking less of the brain-numbing stuff than I would be in Canada. I'm pretty sure the other adverse health aspects remain the same, but I won't go into that. Regardless, I'd like to find another activity to occupy my evenings, if only to have the option.

4. Deep-fried Mars bar

I don't know where it is, but I will find it, photograph it, eat it, and then post it here so arteries everywhere can live in fear.

  2. These are excellent goals...not necessarily to party less, but I respect you. Can't wait for the deep fried mars bars!
